Where can international exchange students look for additional information?
Information about studying at LIFE, living in Denmark, accommodation etc. can be found on LIFE’s website.
Additionally, international students can contact Student Services for academic advice on, for example, choosing courses.
When an international student has been admitted, he or she will receive LIFE’s Practical Guide, which contains information on LIFE specific practicalities. The Practical Guide can be downloaded from LIFE’s website.
Study activities
International exchange students are expected to study full time during their stay at LIFE, which means that they must select courses yielding 15 ECTS/block or 30 ECTS/semester.
Some international exchange students choose to make a so called “Individual Study. Read more about Individual Studies.
Visa and residence permit
All international students who are staying in Denmark for more than 3 months must apply for a residence permit.
-
International students from EU countries apply upon arrival
-
International students from non-EU countries must apply at the Danish embassy or consulate before they leave their own country, after they have received their letter of admission and visa application form.
Study start and integration
International exchange students can choose to be assigned a First Contact, that is, a LIFE student, who voluntarily helps international students during their first few weeks in Denmark. If the student wishes, the First Contact can pick them up at the airport. During the semester, First Contacts arrange a weekend trip and social and cultural events for all the international exchange students.
The Secretariat for Internationalisation organizes a welcome reception at the beginning of each semester to inform international students about LIFE, studies at LIFE and practicalities.
Transcripts
When the international students have completed all their exams or their individual studies, the results are reported to Study and Students’ Affairs, where they are entered into STADS. Students receive their transcript approximately two months after they have returned to their home university.
