University of Copenhagen among the world’s ten best places to work for life scientists - 30.06.2010

Again this year, University of Copenhagen ranks high on The Scientist’s survey of Best Places to Work in Academia. The survey is announced in the July issue of The Scientist.

With a ranking as number 9 internationally, University of Copenhagen confirms its position as a popular academic institution among scientists in the field of life sciences.

The number one institution on the list is the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. See the whole list of the top ten institutions in The Scientist: Best Places to work 2010: Academia - Top 10 Academic Institutions.

The survey was conducted among the readers of The Scientist who identify themselves as life scientists with a permanent position in an academic, hospital, government, or research organization.

Respondents were asked to assess their working environment according to 38 criteria in 8 different areas, including job satisfaction, peers, infrastructure and environment, by posing positive statements with which the respondent was asked to agree or disagree. Respondents were also asked to rank how important each factor was important to them. Read more about the methodology.

Last year, University of Copenhagen was ranked No 2 in the Scientist’s survey of Best Places to Work for Postdocs outside the US.
