General Requirements

 Checklist

 

When applying to study abroad, you must meet certain requirements depending on the programme applied for:

 

Nordic countries/NOVA-Nordplus

  • For studies at a NOVA or BOVA member university
  • Studies must be on a full-time basis

  • Study period between 5 days and 12 months

  • Courses must be eligible for credit transfer

  • You must live in the host country

  • You must have completed at least one year of studies

Erasmus

  • You are applying to spend a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months at the institution.
  • You have been studying for a minimum of 12 months.
  • You apply to be full-time student during your stay, i.e. you must earn 30 ECTS credits per term.
  • You will be able to transfer the credits earned during your stay.
  • You are a citizen in an EU member state, or you are an official refugee or stateless or have been granted a permanent residence permit in an EU member state.
  • You have not received an Erasmus grant before – Erasmus is “once in a lifetime”.
  • The Faculty of Life Sciences must have an Erasmus collaboration agreement with the university at which you wish to study – check the database of partner universities.
  • You must not have to pay study fees.  

Overseas  

  • You apply to be full-time student during your stay, i.e. you must earn 30 ECTS credits per term.
  • You have been studying for a minimum of 2 years when starting your stay.  
  • You are applying to spend a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months at the institution.
  • You will be able to transfer the credits earned during your stay.
  • If you apply to study in the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, you must be proficient in English.
  • To study at certain universities in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, you must have acquired certain average grades – check the list of partner universities to read more.  

Selection

When allocating the exchange places, the criteria emphasised by Scholarships and Grants Committee include:

 

  • The correct completion of the application form to which all relevant enclosures should be attached.
  • The student providing sensible and well-founded reasons for wishing to study abroad.
  • The duration of the student’s studies – the highest priority is given to students who have been studying the longest.
